Dr. Stephen Van Horn, Jr.

Dr. Stephen Van Horn,Jr. is a native of Camden, South Carolina. In 1997, he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Charleston and remained in Charleston to earn his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. During this time he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  He completed his residency program in Internal Medicine, a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease, and a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. During his fellowship, Dr. Van Horn’s research interests included alcohol septal ablations for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarctions and intravascular ultrasound for percutaneous coronary interventions. He is published in Medical Clinics of North America and in Current Cardiovascular Imaging Reports. Dr. Van Horn is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association and the South Carolina Medical Association. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. Special interests include general and interventional cardiology and structural heart disease including patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect closures.
